Hello Oasis Camel Dairy Members.

We have been sooooo crazy busy at the farm! There is so much going on. (Don't you just love Spring?!)

Jamila still hasn't had her calf! She is our last pregnant camel we are waiting for. We must have mis-calculated her due date! She is HUGE though and they baby just have to be on its way... any day now!

We did have four new babies... lambs that is. We have three south down baby-doll sheep: two ewes and a ram. Three weeks ago, the two ewes: Marybell and Annabell each had twins! Each has one boy and one girl and the six of them romp all over the ranch eating grass and confounding the dogs. Camels are number one here but Gil and I have to admit; those lambs are ADORABLE!

We are taking our Camel Dairy on the road to two fairs this summer: the Sacramento County Fair will fall over Memorial Day Weekend. I hope all our Sacramento area members and friends come by to say hi.

The San Diego County Fair is going to be AMAZING this year!

The fair runs from June 11 through July 5. We will have the Camel Dairy Exhibit there for the run of the fair. Here is the wild part:

Gil and I are going to spend two solid weeks of the fair, in our exhibit testing our Camel Milk Challenge Diet! We will eat nothing but raw camel milk we collect during the shows, dried dates and water.... FOR TWO WEEKS! This is part of a pretty ambitious project we are planning for next year where Gil and I will do a one month desert crossing on camel back consuming the same nomadic diet.

You can read all about it on our website at CAMEL MILK CHALLENGE The blog links are pretty amazing!

We want your participation too! Among other things, we are doing a "last meal" of fair food before we start the Challenge. You can help us choose from a pretty crazy smorgasbord of fair favorites.

It's easy! Just follow this link to the on-line form and choose your five favorites! Gil & Nancy's Last Meal! We would love you to be a part of this program. W will also be doing a daily "confessional" web-cast live from the San Diego County Fair each day. I'll give you links and more details as I have them.

Gil and I have never done anything quite like this! We are more than a little worried that trying to eat nothing but camel milk while surrounded by fair food will be VERY challenging.

Thanks so much for your comments and involvement with our Dairy.

We look forward to seeing your menu items

We hope you join in the fun.

Nancy
